Εκπαίδευση

Ο Κρίτων Καλαντίδης αποφοίτησε από το Τμήμα Βιοτεχνολογίας του Γεωπονικού Πανεπιστημίου της Πράγας το 1991. Στη συνέχεια εκπόνησε την διδακτορική του διατριβή στο τμήμα Βιολογίας του Πανεπιστημίου του Νόττινχαμ οπου ασχολήθηκε με την ανάπτυξη των στημόνων και της γύρης στο πειραματικό φυτό-μοντέλο Arabidopsis thaliana. 

Σταδιοδρομία

Από το 2005 είναι υπεύθυνος του εργαστηρίου Μοριακής Βιολογίας Φυτών του ΙΜΒΒ και από το 2008 Επίκουρος καθηγητής του τμήματος Βιολογίας του Πανεπιστημίου Κρήτης.

Επιστημονικά ενδιαφέροντα

RNA-διαμεσολαβούμενα φαινόμενα, με έμφαση στον αναπτυξιακό τους ρόλο στα φυτά. Ο μηχανισμός της RNA σίγησης και οι σχέσεις παθογόνου φυτού-ξενιστή. Επιγενετικά φαινόμενα στα φυτά.
