OPEN CALL – APPLICATIONS FOR PhD PROGRAMS
Applications for our Doctoral Programs in the Department of Biology are launched throughout the academic year, which are then assessed in the Department’s General Assembly. Candidate applicants holding a Master’s Degree from either a Greek or a foreign university, the latter being accredited by the Hellenic National Academic Recognition Information Centre [NARIC/ΔΟΑΤΑΠ], are eligible to join under the condition that their field of study is strictly related and up to standard as determined by the Department’s Admissions Team. In exceptional circumstances, applicants without a Master’s Degree may be authorized to join provided that they are in accordance with the Department’s standards (Internal Rules and Regulations).
Applications and all supporting documents for doctoral studies are submitted online through the following website https://postgrad.cict.uoc.gr. Prospective candidates are required to create a user account to process their application.

3. Two Letters of Recommendation (Directly sent by the referees. Full contact information -names & e-mails - is required.) |

5. A letter of approval of research proposal by candidate’s thesis supervisor |
6. An application for the appointment of a three-member Doctoral Advisory Committee (see relevant document in the platform – Supplemental documents) |
7. A thesis research proposal |
8. A copy of candidate’s Undergraduate (B.A.) Degree |
9. A copy of candidate’s Master’s Degree In case candidates have not yet received their postgraduate degree when submitting the supporting documents, they are allowed to provide a certificate of completion of studies. |
10. An official transcript of candidate’s detailed undergraduate and postgraduate academic record |
11. A certificate of equivalence issued by DOATAP/ NARIC (www.doatap.gr) regarding degrees taken from foreign universities. In case it is pending, a certificate of submission of supporting documents to DOATAP may be issued instead. |
12. A certificate of competence in the English language (B2 level). A certificate of competence in the English or Greek language for foreign candidates. |
13. A statutory declaration, where candidates should state whether they are registered in a postgraduate study program of any other Department (see relevant document in the platform – Supplemental Documents) |
14. Any other detail or particular which may assist the candidate in the selection process. |
